Women Align With Cannabis

If you think people aren’t using cannabis around you, think again – cannabis use is more common than you probably realize.

In the age of legalization with a handful of U.S. states making the jump from medicinal cannabis to recreational cannabis, more people are coming forth about their experiences.

There’s been a shift that has been slowly but surely happening over the last few years that is taking cannabis away from the image of the “stoner” and aligning it more with the empowered person. Women are emerging as a strong market.

If you haven’t heard about these already, here are a few incredible ways that women are incorporating cannabis into their lifestyles:

  1. Microdosing

There are quite a few women out there rocking an all-day cannabis glow.  You probably wouldn’t know it, because they’re microdosing.

Microdosing involves ingesting small doses of cannabis throughout an extended period of time. This allows the user to gain the benefits and effects of THC and CBD without a powerful high.

When you microdose, you take one pull off your vaporizer instead of a few. You consume half or a quarter of a dose of your edible instead of the whole one.  There are also great micro-dose products on the market.

  1. Combining Cannabis & Fitness

Whether it’s through microdosing or using specific strains, more women are incorporating cannabis into their fitness routines. Some women choose to use a sativa strain pre-workout to bring about energy and focus.

Others use cannabis in their fitness recovery process to reduce inflammation in sore muscles and joints. It’s also becoming common for people to use cannabis for yoga or other meditative wellness activities.  Indica-dominant strains bring about relaxation and calm.

With this approach, strain choice and dose is everything if you want to get the most out of your cannabis-enhanced fitness experience.

  1. Opting for Bud Over Booze

No one can deny that the life of the modern woman is draining, especially if you wear many hats as a mother, professional and partner.  In any office building, friends circle, or social media feed, it’s not uncommon to hear a woman talk about downing a whole bottle of wine at night to wash away her worries.

As cannabis becomes more socially accepted, more women are coming forward with their cannabis use.  They often confess that they find cannabis to be a safer alternative for “letting their hair down”.

Cannabis can be used throughout the day without compromising the ability to perform necessary tasks. She can maintain clarity and function while reaping the benefits of cannabis’ effects.

  1. This is an awesome article! I am a successful health professional and a kick ass mama and wife. I have a nice social life and community. I am also a cannabis user. I resonate with much of what you wrote here. Really have realized that I prefer cannabis over wine. So nice to see more high functioning ( pun intended; ) women and men coming out of the cannabis closet!

Thanks for supporting us Rachael! When/if you’re ever ready… send in your submission! Would love to support you as well 🙂

  2. Wonderful article! I agree with every point made here and I definitely fall into the category of a “ganja girl”. I’ve always enjoyed cannabis far more than drinking and have never enjoyed being drunk…something I don’t have to worry about with cannabis. Plus nobody has ever died from “letting their hair down with cannabis”, as opposed to alcohol which can be very dangerous very quickly.
