On November 6, something exciting launched in the cannabis community: Stephanie Hua & Coreen Carroll’s newest book, Edibles: Small Bites for the Modern Cannabis Kitchen! This cookbook takes edibles to new levels by showcasing 30 delicious and inviting recipes geared towards all types of consumers. Team Oov had the opportunity to attend the cookbook’s press launch to learn more about the new title.
The event was held at the San Francisco Cooking School, a spot that holds much more meaning to the two authors, as it is where they both first met one another while taking a cooking class. With an intimate number of attendees, guests were able to thoroughly enjoy the evening of good food while asking questions to the authors and taking in their surroundings.
Throughout the course of the event, Hua & Carroll showcased a variety of their new recipes from Edibles, which aims to help people entertain their guests through good food. The night kicked off with starters such as beet hummus, roasted grape crostini and peach and ginger ale floats.
After guests took their seats, they were treated to indulgent plates of fried mac and cheese bites and duck meatball sliders. For dessert, the two authors showcased their famed birthday cake mellows, which happens to also be the deliciously inviting goodies that grace the cover of Edibles. There was also the grapefruit Negroni “pot” des fruits and frozen key lime pies.
While none of the presented foods were infused with cannabis, the duo spoke with the crowd on the preferred type of infusion for each item. The cookbook itself delves into detailed information on precise dosages and portions for those to enjoy if they so choose. Hua & Carroll also demoed how to curate your own tincture, which could be used for infusing foods with while cooking.
Guests did not leave the event empty handed. Each person was generously gifted with a box of the birthday cake mellows, a cannabis photo book by the publishers and the cookbook itself, among other items.
